I was an answer to someone's prayer today! It was a tender mercy. An elderly lady in our town lost her key to the family history center a few weeks ago. She has called Reed several times, called me at work, and every time we saw her she would ask if we had found her key. Since we don't travel in the same circles, (as in I never go to the FHC!), I thought, why is she asking me?
Now for the rest of the story. Today I worked at the Seminary and there were lots of pop bottles piling up so I decided to take them to the bottle depot. I do this maybe once a year. I got my little slip of paper from the bottle depot and then took it in to the gas station to get the money for it. While I was waiting, I happened to notice a key just sitting on the counter. It had the same kind of key ring the lady had described. I asked whose it was. They said they didn't know. Someone found it on the floor a few weeks ago and it had been sitting there ever since. I told them I thought I knew whose it was and could I take it. Sure, they said, so off I went to the lady's house.
She was so happy! It was her long lost key. She has no idea how it got to the gas station. It is across the street from the FHC, so maybe she dropped it outside and a kid found it on his way from the school to the gas station. Anyway, it felt good to be the answer to someone's prayer. She had been praying, and fasting, and confessing (! her words, not mine). She was so grateful. I asked her to pray for me now. I have been searching for 2 weeks for the tracking number for the passport info I sent in. I sure would like to know if it got there! It contained my original copy of my CDN citizenship and it is irreplaceable! Maybe if we all pray it will show up!
