Tender Mercy

We just had a tender mercy I thought I would share. You remember the newspaper bucket. It gets pretty full and yesterday I told your dad that we should empty the bucket for garbage pick up today. How hard do you think it would be find a piece of paper that is 3 1/2" x 8" in that pile of papers if you were looking for it? Well, Reed just happened to pick up the papers in the right sequence so that piece of paper we have been looking for, for 2 weeks was just sitting there. It was a check for $205! It must have been on the table and got scooped up with the paper one day. We are just thankful that the Lord looked out for us one more time!

That was fun, right?!!?! Yes, it was!

Kids say the funniest things!

These are from our phone conversations with the kids and grand kids on Sunday, November 2.

1. We were talking to Kristi about how tired she is and how early she is going to bed lately. Kristi said, "I'm growing a baby you know." In the background we heard Eliza exclaim with great excitement, "You're growing a baby!?!!".

2. We were talking with Doug, Sarah and the boys. Doug was downstairs on a phone and we talked to the boys a bit. Then the boys went upstairs and they got on the phone with us again. Kade said, "Did you know there's a Grandma downstairs, too?!!?".

We love it!

It was a beautiful day today...it got up to 75. In Canada! On October 28th! Since I had had a gruelling 2 days at work, I took off early and we took a picnic lunch out to the lake. Reed decided to take a plunge. It was cold!




Me? I was picking cockleburs off the towel!





And Reed decided to pick the nose of the giant face!

Was is really that dark?!

Here's the story. Reed got up early to go to Stake Priesthood Leadership meeting at 7:30 am. He left (most) of the lights off so he wouldn't disturb me. As he was coming home from the meeting, he looked down and saw this!





Now I don't think it was that dark!

20 Years in Canada

 

How cute you kids were! Especially after that looooooong drive!

It happened again...

Before I tell you what happened again, I will tell you a little of what has been going on with us. The weather has been extra beautiful! We love it and wish we were out in it more, but the past few days we have been indoors a lot. On Friday, we spent about 12 hours at a Family History conference in Lethbridge. I went a little grudgingly, but I actually learned quite a bit and it was a good thing. Saturday we helped with Nancie Zobell's wedding. Reed carved up 4 turkeys and I and about 7 other ladies helped serve all the food for the family dinner. Now here comes the part about it happened again. First, I will remind you when this happened a few months ago. It was at our reunion in Waterton when I lost Kade. I panicked and looked every where for him, inside and out. As I came into the house, I said a little prayer that I would find Kade and right then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the little guy hiding under a table! I knew my prayers had been answered. Well, yesterday, my prayer was answered immediately again. I had gone back and forth from the church to my house about 3 times to get things that needed to be gotten. After I'd been at the church for a while, I realized that I didn't know where my keys were. I looked around a bit and didn't find them, but figured they would turn up. About 2 hours later I really needed to run home and put some tablecloths in the wash so they would be clean for the reception later on that night. I went into the kitchen and told the ladies my plight and they all looked for my keys. No luck. I went out to the car, twice, and looked. No keys. OK. It was time I turned to the Lord. No sooner had I uttered the words than a picture came in to my mind as to where they were. They were on the head table! I never would have thought to look there, but there I looked and there they were. I am very grateful prayers are heard and are answered!
